Avro Museum Trip

As part of their Air Spotter and Air Activity Badges St. George’s Mill Hill Scout Troop recently visited the Avro Heritage Museum nr Manchester.

The Scouts learnt about the history of the Avro Company and the many famous planes they have built. In addition to the Lancaster Bomber, Avro also built the Vulcan Bomber and the Scouts had the chance to sit in the cockpit and learn all about the Vulcan and it’s role in the Cold War.

Whilst at the museum we were pleased to enrol two new members into the Troop right in front of the Vulcan.

We rounded off our day with a trip to Manchester Airport to carry out some aircraft identification.

A great day out for everyone involved.
